Ms. Jeaneth Kabini is a scientist at the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation (Necsa) where she collaborates with regional and international experts on nuclear forensics, non-proliferation research and nuclear security support. Ms. Kabini is also lead scientist in the establishment of Necsa’s nuclear forensics microscopic and physical capabilities in South Africa and is involved in building the framework for the country’s national nuclear forensics library.
Ms. Kabini is currently the Robin Copeland Memorial Fellow and has recently completed her training in non-proliferation at the James Martin Center for Non-proliferation Studies. Due to the lack of expertise in this area in South Africa, this fellowship will enable Ms. Kabini to further her knowledge of nuclear security policies and connecting with industry experts to strengthen her ability to serve as a leader in nuclear security in South Africa.
