Security of Radioactive Sources

PGS is interested in a broader nuclear security agenda that includes the largest number of stakeholders and a coalition of states, industry, and nongovernmental organizations. At the 2012 Nuclear Security Summit in Seoul, South Korea, participant states agreed to expand the scope of the agenda to include radiological security. Expanding the agenda in this manner means a larger number of states (particularly those without nuclear materials) now have a reason to be engaged and interested in efforts to improve nuclear security. PGS plans to work with governments, international organizations, and nongovernmental experts to design new policy ideas to improve the security of radioactive sources around the world.
